Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks 12/1/16 Score

Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks 12/1/16 Score

A game of December basketball is in the books. Brooklyn falls to 0-1 and Milwaukee goes to 1-0 n the month as the Bucks defeated the nets in Brooklyn 111-93. The third quarter woes got the best of Brooklyn yet again tonight. This was only a one point game at halftime.

Brooklyn got outscored 38-27 in the third quarter making their deficit going into the final frame 12 points. These teams were back and forth the first two quarters, but the Bucks continued their dominance in the fourth quarter. Brooklyn was held to 15 points compared to the Bucks’ 21. Needless to say, Brooklyn clearly is not a second half team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers tonight with 23 points. The Greek Freak also put up eight rebounds and eight assists on the night. For Brooklyn, Brook Lopez led the way with 15 points. It is never a good sign when your leading scorer has only 15 points.

Brooklyn took a whopping 40 three-point shots tonight and made a mere 12 of them for a 30% rating. As a whole, Brooklyn shot 38.2% form the field. Brooklyn clearly was not shooting well tonight and it showed up in the 15 points in the final quarter. The Nets simply went ice cold in the second half.

Grading the Players

Getting A’s is Sean Kilpatrick and Trevor Booker. Skilpatrick did not have the explosive night we saw against the Clippers, but he was efficient. Kilpatrick scored 14 points on 5-10 shooting with six rebounds four assists and a steal.

Booker scored nine points and snagged eight rebounds. This is pretty much his season average and Brooklyn really cannot and should not expect more from him. He does have games where he will score and rebound like a machine, but that is not every night Booker. Nets fans should be satisfied with nine and eight from Booker.

I will give a B to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. RHJ came back from his ankle injury off of the bench tonight. RHJ scored sevn points in 17 minutes of action. He even gt a teal and two blocks on the defensive side of the floor. It is promising that Rondae’s ankle seemed to be in good shape tonight. Hopefully he feels good tomorrow after a night in action.

I will give Isaiah Whitehead a C+ in this one. If he scored double-digits tonight, he would have been bumped up a bit. Whitehead came with eight points and four assists tonight on 3-8 shooting. Better shooting efficiency, barely, and the same assist total. He is a work in progress, but progress may be getting made.

Justin Hamilton gets a D tonight. Playing 17 minutes, Hamilton only tallied five points and two rebounds. Fans cannot expect him to score too many points in a given night, but five points on 2-9 shooting is not good. Hamilton can do better than that and he usually does; it was an off night.

Brooklyn and Milwaukee head to Wisconsin for the second half of a home-and-home Saturday night. Brooklyn has failed to win back-to-back games yet again, but the Bucks are beatable, and the third time is a charm.
